Powercor recently installed a 17KW solar system on the roof of our new offices at 23 Trade City, Avro Way, Brooklands Business Park, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0YF

We installed the system for multiple reasons but mainly to make our office energy efficient and also to take advantage of the change in FIT (feed in tariff) which is due to change in January 2016.

The install included installing a scaffold to the front elevation of the building for safe access, with safety rails around the roof for safe working.

The system is mounted on rails direct to the metal roof and with panels installed onto them, following a structural survey being carried out. Design was carried out by the solar expert within our company.

A team of 3 engineers installed the system over a period of 4 days and on completion the system was fully tested and commissioned.

All paperwork was recorded and the system was registered with our energy supplier on the 6th November 2015.

To date the system has generated an average of 7.7 units of energy per day.

Our return on investment has been calculated at 18% with a payback of just over 5 years – All with a guaranteed 20 year revenue stream which is index linked.

We now receive a cheque from the energy supplier every 3 months, which helps towards our running costs.
