Smart Purchasing – Could it benefit your business?

Since starting my new role as Operations Coordinator responsible for purchasing,  I have been spending time searching for the best prices available for the materials and services we require for our many varied electrical installation projects.

Benefits of Smart Purchasing

By having one person taking control of the purchasing this has allowed us to become efficient in more ways than purely just the financial saving made by smarter purchasing.

With this in mind, we know we can offer our customers the best service and the most competitive prices for the contracts we complete.

This results in our staff being more efficient as they are able to plan ahead and have materials delivered to site rather than spending time at the wholesalers, which undoubtedly turns into a quick cuppa tea and a biscuit as well.

Also as you may have read in one of our previous blogs we are a Philips VAP (value added partner) this also gives us huge buying power when it comes to Philips lighting. We are able to supply Philips lighting at a very competitive rate which you would struggle to find elsewhere.

The future for Powercor

As our company grows, our aim is to organise our company processes to ensure we are as productive as possible, but at the end of the day we want to keep the small company mentality that our customers have come to trust and rely on.

By streamlining all purchases through the office this frees up our Contracts Managers to concentrate on the important aspects of running the job and allows them to spend more time supporting our staff onsite and communicating with customers and ensuring they are happy.

We adapt to ever changing best practice in the market place to bring savings & efficiencies to our clients.
