Vision Engineering are world leaders in ergonomic microscopy, digital 3D visualisation and metrology solutions. Vision Engineering’s stereo inspection microscopes and non-contact measuring systems are used in a very wide range of industries – in fact, anywhere where high-performance magnification, or precision measurement is required. With more than 60 years industry experience, they understand the specific challenges of highly specialised applications in a wide range of industries.

OUR APPROACH AND IMPACT
Vision engineering first approached Powercor to assist in understanding their energy usage for future power requirements as the company’s energy requirements were increasing rapidly with additional machinery required onsite.
With this, the Woking facility power requirements are a challenge with the DNO supply and were running at maximum capacity.
Having an existing solar array, they knew there were benefits to having solar, so we looked at providing a larger solar system to reduce their reliance on the grid at peak operational times and reduce the reliance on the grid whilst maximising savings.
We will be monitoring the system and looking to see where we can improve savings as well as designing an Electrical Energy Storage System (EESS) further down the line.
Powercor designed a 372KWp system utilising 3 x 100KW inverters integrated with the original 54KWp system over 2 MPANs.
