Powercor has worked with Bradfield College for many years. Of particular note has been projects related to their cricket, tennis and swimming facilities.

Bradfield’s new cricket facility needed to comply with the England Cricket Board’s (ECB) 750lux Lux levels, given that hard balls are being hit at up to 160km/h. Powercor installed Gentlespace High Bays controlled by a Philips’ Dynalite system giving the facilities manager and coaches full control of the lighting levels. The new system gives Bradfield College massive energy savings, uniformity of light, instantaneous lighting when required, reduced running costs and lower maintenance costs.

After installing the Philips High Bays in Bradfield’s tennis centre, lux levels were at the required 750 lux levels and every player immediately noticed the difference.

In the swimming facility, Bradfield wanted to improve the uniformity distribution of light, create a cool lighting colour and reduced glare on the water surface to give the pool staff a better view. Powercor designed a lighting scheme that met all the college’s requirements and would be long lasting thanks to a special coating on the luminaires that protects against specific environmental corrosives, such as water vapour, chlorine and cleaning products. We also achieved huge reductions in power consumption thus improving carbon emissions and running costs
