What is it?
Solar Photovoltaic panels provide a way of generating electricity from daylight. The panels are usually fitted to your roof, although they can alternatively be installed on the ground.
Although the panels are more effective on sunny days they will still produce electricity on overcast days. The panels generate electricity in Direct Current (DC) an inverter is used to convert the electricity to Alternating Current (AC) which is suitable for use in our homes. As the electricity is generated it goes through a meter that records how much electricity you have generated. It is possible to receive an income of up to 43.3p for every KWh of electricity you generate.
Why should I have it?
If you want to cut your carbon footprint then solar electricity is the right choice. Solar electricity is green, renewable energy and doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) or other pollutants. A typical home PV system could save over 1 tonne of CO2 per year - that's more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime.
Sunlight is free, so once you've paid for the initial installation of your PV system your electricity costs will reduce. Any excess electricity that you generate can be sold back to the Grid: if your system is producing more electricity than you need, or when you can't use it, someone else can use it. If your home isn't connected to the national grid you can store excess electricity in batteries to use when you need it.
Powercor SOLAR supply and install Solar PV!
Because Powercor are MCS approved PV installers for the South East and nationwide, we can supply and fit Photovoltaic panels, enabling you to earn a minimum of £1600 per year (based on a 4kw array) fixed for up to 25 years through the government feed in tariff, with the additional benefit of free electricity. Powercor SOLAR can give accurate estimates prior to a site visit or survey, we offer a no pressure technical sale approach.
Benefits For You
When you install a domestic solar PV panel system, you get a clean and green energy source that doesn’t rely on diminishing fossil fuels.
You won’t use as much gas or electricity from the grid to generate power for your home – which means lower bills.
Just as importantly, once you’ve covered the initial outlay, your solar PV system actually earns you money by generating your own electricity:
The government’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme means you get paid 43.3p ≤ 4Kw and 37.8p ≥ 4Kw for every unit (kilowatt hour or Kwh) of electricity you generate.
Any electricity you don’t use is sold back to your utility supplier at a rate of 3p per Kwh. Depending on how much electricity you use, you could sell as much of 50% of the electricity you generate back to the utility company.
The FiT scheme is guaranteed to run for 25 years, is index-linked (which means it is linked to inflation) and best of all you don’t pay tax on any of your earnings.
You receive a cheque in the post every quarter (3 months).
It doesn’t even need to be sunny! All you need is daylight and a south-facing roof, along with a little help from the solar panel experts at Powercor SOLAR.
But act quickly. The Feed-in Tariff will gradually decrease over the next 25 years – so the sooner you install your solar home PV panel system, the more income you receive.
